"Salary is no object: I want only enough to keep body and soul apart."
Dorothy Parker, New Yorker (4 February 1928)
Dorothy Parker attended elementary school at the Convent of the Blessed Sacrament in New York City's upper west side. She was asked to leave following her characterization of Christ's conception as "spontaneous combustion."
Full disclosure: All biographical information regarding Dorothy Parker comes from Wikipedia.org, but I do check the footnotes.

Love this picture of Ms. Parker.
Love that characterization! I can't tell my husband however lest he take the occasion of his next reunion (at Notre Dame High School) to share it with the priests there, as he would be apt to do! :--)
This just reminded me of my philosophy class when we had a debate if soul and body are apart, thanks for this!
Love this particular book cover. And "spontaneous combustion." Dorothy, Dorothy, Dorothy.
